Digital marketing trends are fluctuating every month. With new algorithms being released, Google improvements, and fresh ideas on how to better reach your users, we constantly see digital marketing news being released every day. With the help of our team of digital marketing specialists, we are taking a deep dive into the most significant January 2022 digital marketing updates that everyone should be aware of.

At Tandem Buzz, a South Florida digital marketing agency, we asked our team of professionals to research and find some new digital marketing updates for SEO, PPC, and social media marketing. Incorporating these search engine marketing trends can help your strategies and PPC campaigns perform better and assist you in getting the most out of your ads and strategy.

PPC January Updates

Our PPC specialists in Fort Lauderdale are excited for the new improvements made within Google Ads and the rollout of a new Experiments Page that allows digital marketers to test different campaigns. A further improvement in the world of PPC, these paid advertising updates allow our team to test different ad campaigns and learn more about what attracts their users down the conversion funnel.

  • In January, Google launched new improvements to image extensions within Google Ads. They made improvements to desktop devices to level up with mobile compatibility, aligning image extensions for both devices. The results have made ad images more visually appealing, resulting in the improvements showing boosts in click-through rate and ROI.
  • Google rolled out a new Experiments Page, allowing users to easily monitor and manage their different campaign tests and experiments. Now, users can create an experiment without first creating a draft, making it easier to compare performance between their base and trial campaigns. There is also a new feature, Experiment Sync, which ensures that any optimizations made to your original campaign will automatically copy/sync to the experiment campaign.
  • In January, Google announced that as of June 28th, 2022, Gmail campaigns would no longer run. Gmail campaigns have been “read-only” since July 2021, but they will be fully eliminated effective June 2022.
  • Google Ads launched Placement Reports for Performance Max campaigns. This new reporting resource provides advertisers with insight into where their Performance Max ads are being shown and how many impressions are being received.

SEO January Updates

Our South Florida SEO company is excited to announce the new SEO updates found within the Google SERPs. Our SEO specialists are constantly staying up to date with the latest news in SEO and how we can further grow our organic search strategies for our clients, crawlers, and users.

  • At SMX Next, Kyra Sammis, Customer Success Manager at Trustpilot, explained how marketers could use reviews to improve SEO efforts. Kyra shared on Search Engine Land five ways digital marketing specialists can help improve search rankings by leveraging customer reviews. Website owners can gain referral traffic on third-party sites, use a star rating to appeal to savvy customers on search listings, and capture niche audiences through long-tail keywords found in product reviews.
  • Marketers can expect Google’s page experience update to come to desktop next month. Although this won’t be a big update, it is designed to highlight pages that offer great user experiences. Page experience remains one of the larger aspects Google crawlers take into account.
  • Google has launched an exciting new feature on its mobile search results known as “People search next.” This feature is expected to help users get to and see popular next searches based on what they’re currently searching for. People can also expect to see Google’s new search feature when they do ‘near me’ searches on mobile.
