Google Posts: New Google My Business Feature for Users

Google Posts is now available to all businesses that currently use the Google My Business (GMB) platform. The new feature gives users innovative ways to engage with their customers by providing them with timely information such as new deals, or the opportunity to promote content blogs. This information posted can include any content the business wants, from upcoming events they are hosting, to specials and sales, to new and featured products. Posts will appear directly on your Google business listing. Customers can tap to read the full post, and they can also share your post with their friends directly from Google. Here is a guide on how it works!

Step 1: Login to your GMB Account.

Click on “Posts” on the left-side menu to create your new post.

Step 2: Create your Post.

You can add an image, a title, and up to 300 words of text describing the post. You can also add a call-to-action button from a range of different options, including “learn more,” “reserve,” “buy,” “sign up,” or “get offer.”

 

Note: These Google Posts seem to expire within seven days after posting them. Businesses are reporting that they get a notice on the sixth day that the Google Post will expire.

Step 3: Publish your Post. It’s that easy!

 

This is a great opportunity to promote your latest blog posts straight from your listing, as well as special deals that include a limited time offer.

Your Google post will appear in both search and map results, on a desktop or mobile setting.
