Google My Business Now Allows Some Businesses to Verify Through Email Option

Google My Business Updates!

Google is allowing some businesses to verify their Google My Business page through email verification instead of requiring them to verify through phone.

Google is now allowing some businesses to verify their Google My Business listings through email verification, as well as the usual postcard and phone verification options. This is great news to us who work in the local search marketing industry.

According to business owner Kiran C. Kumar, Google offers three different options to verify a company: phone, postcard and email. Kumar shares a screen shot of these options in action on his Twitter account. In the picture you can see that Google offered Kumar the three different methods to verify the business.

Check out the screen shot showing the new email option:

You can see the “By email now” option, and it lists one of the business’s official emails and the website.

Tandem Buzz, a digital marketing company located off of Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, has a team of local search marketing experts performing research on the subject, which unfortunately returned little information. It seems no one is talking about this new, and much more convenient, option.

Our local search marketing team here at Tandem will definitely be keeping an eye out for this convenient method of business verification. One thing is for certain, the new email verification option should help Google obtain more verified businesses in Google My Business and Google Maps.
